Is this really a church?
Yes, Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis formed as a church over 30 years ago. We are part of a denomination named Metropolitan Community Churches. We are a Christ-centered church with a specific ministry to the gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered communities.
What do I wear?
Appropriate dress for all our worship services is casual. There will be a wide variety of dress displayed by our congregants ranging from business casual to dress shorts.
How long does service last?
Our worship services last approximately one hour. Our regular worship services include prayers, music, a sermon, communion, and scripture readings.
Do I have to belong to the UFMCC or MCCGSL?
No, we welcome people from all religious backgrounds as well as those who do not have one. All our ministries are open to anyone who is interested in participating.
What if I am not a Christian?
Our church is a Christ-centered church. However, we respect every person's right to formulate and practice faith in many different forms. We like to say, "Come as you are, believing as you do."
Can straight people go to MCC?
Certainly! MCCGSL is an inclusive church: we welcome all people regardless of their race, color, ethnicity, physical or mental ability, language, gender, or sexual orientation.
Is there food available?
Yes, we serve light snacks including sugar free offerings after each service. We also serve various sodas, coffee, and water.
Are you disability accessible?
Yes. Special parking spaces are acessible at the front of the building. An accessible entrance is available to the left of the church steps.
