COMMUNITY SUPPORT---JUSTICE TEAM

The purpose of the Community Support team is to empower those who are oppressed socially, physically, spiritually and economically within our church community, greater St. Louis GLBT community, the greater St Louis community as a whole and when necessary; state, federally or world wide through education, social action, and volunteerism.  This team is excellent if you would like to participate in any of these events, or be active with the Community.

Being a team member means volunteering to participate in an event, help with planning, promoting and encouraging others to be involved in other events. If you want to see the results of your work in our community at large, we would love to for you to join us in our next meeting.  Contact the team at communitysupport@mccgsl.org or the Justice Team at justiceteam@mccgsl.org.

The team is divided in to three key parts: Grassroots – Holy Ground – Cornerstone

Grassroots - works with events, primarily at the local level, such as, the AIDS Walk, the Komen Race, food pantries, Christmas Toy Drive, school supplies, working with PROMO, etc.

Holy Ground - works with other congregations in the Central West End for the common good of our community; i.e. Habitat for Humanity, feeding the homeless, painting fences and making our voices heard when it comes to social injustices.

Cornerstone - deals with organizing groups of people to attend various local events which support the LGBT community, such as A Tasteful Affair, EFA Carnivale, etc.
