People have been using dreams as valuable sources of insight, prophecy, and divine communication for thousands of years. Even ancient civilizations knew to interpret dreams symbolically, which is clearly illustrated in the book of Joseph. Both Sigmund Freud and Carl Jung reinforced the notion of symbolic representation, believing that dreams were messages from the unconscious. They posited that a better of dreams led to a deeper understanding of our actions, motivations and desires. The more attention we pay to our dreams, the better we will understand ourselves. As we approach the season of Advent, this period of waiting, of preparing for the arrival of the Christ, it is a perfect time to look at our dreams more closely.
In this class participants will learn to better understand their dreams. We will learn tips on dream recall, ways to record your dreams, how to keep a dream journal, ways to see dreams symbolically, and ways to work with the dream images.
