Climate disaster, economic disparity, and every person/family/neighborhood fending for themselves. Octavia Butler first published her novel in 1993 and set it in the future—in our time. Together, we’ll compare our reality with Butler’s imagination. Through the lens of our faith, we’ll examine the themes of the novel and consider their relevance for us today.
