MICA (Migrant and Immigrant Community Action Project) will host a Community Defense Training at MCCGSL (Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis). Community Defense Training is designed to empower allies and community members with actionable strategies to respond to federal immigration enforcement activity. Attendees will be equipped with critical skills to support and protect the dignity of the immigrant community. Key components of the training include the following:
Know Your Rights: practical guidance on what to do and how to exercise constitutional rights if stopped by ICE or other law enforcement.
Rapid Response and Observation: Learn how to safely document ICE/law enforcement activity, report incidents to the community, and help prevent unnecessary panic.
Actionable resources will also be provided.
