All My Days Worship Series

  • Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

The tradition of using a string of beads or rope knots in prayer is an ancient tradition and a ritual shared by many faith traditions around the globe. The common connection is the ability to give structure to personal prayer devotion. It offers a way to remind and revisit various areas of focus and concern. Repeated rituals can be powerful as they help shape our habits. During this sermon series, we are invited to pray “All My Days” (our theme song) and to make a habit of prayer wherever you are. Each Sunday in worship we will focus on one of the steps of the prayer beads. On Sunday, August 22 we will be giving out prayer beads; If you worship online and would like prayer beads, we will mail them to you. Please click below to order prayer beads!

  • Metropolitan Community Church of Greater St. Louis (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Join us on Zoom for a book study of the Cross and the Lynching Tree on Wednesdays, April 14 to May 12 at 6pm.

The cross and the lynching tree are the two most emotionally charged symbols in the history of the African American community. In this powerful new work, theologian James H. Cone explores these symbols and their interconnection in the history and souls of black folk. Both the cross and the lynching tree represent the worst in human beings and at the same time a thirst for life that refuses to let the worst determine our final meaning.

Participants should provide their own book. If you haven't gotten your copy, please consider buying from Left Bank Books in the Central West End -- it's a fabulous local book store and is struggling due to COVID.
